I have appliqued this turkey using two methods. The blanket stitch and traditional needle turn method.
Blanket stitch is my favorite because I don't have that much experience with needle turn.
I thought I would do it here both ways because it would give him more depth around the body and breast area. I haven't found
a die satisfactory enough to use for the feet, so I embroidered those with my machine. The eyes are french knots, but you
can also use small black beads. The "thing" hanging from his nose, is what my daughter (as a little girl) used to call "turkey
bugers" is also embroidered.
The turkey measures approximately 6 7/8" from its left most feather to the right side of head and 7 1/4" from the top most
feather to the lowest toe on the foot.
MIXED FABRICS VERSION
The turkey measures approximately 6 1/2" from it's left most feather to the right side of head. It is a mix of fabrics
which are all 100% cotton and are not prewashed.
Package contains the 23 pieces listed below:
9 Orange feathers;
8 Brown feathers;
1 Grey turkey neck;
1 Cinamon head;
1 Orange beak;
